Privacy Policy

1. Information you provide

TrainFed collects information you choose to provide when you create or link an account, complete onboarding, set nutrition goals, log food or water, manage supplements, create meal plans, contact support, or otherwise use the service.

• Account information, such as your email address, name, and sign-in provider.
• Profile and onboarding information, such as age range, body measurements, goals, dietary preferences, training schedule, and activity level.
• Nutrition information, including food entries, meal photos, portion edits, water intake, supplements, preferences, and plan feedback.
• Support messages and any information you include in them.

2. Apple Health data

If you choose to connect Apple Health, TrainFed may read steps, active energy, resting energy, workouts, sleep, heart rate variability, and resting heart rate. This information is used on your device to provide recovery and nutrition context.

Apple Health values stay in app memory on your device and are not uploaded to TrainFed, Supabase, or our AI providers. TrainFed does not use HealthKit data for advertising or sell it to data brokers. You can change Health access at any time in iOS Settings.

3. Photos, voice, and AI analysis

When you ask TrainFed to analyze a food photo, voice recording, text description, or meal-plan request, the relevant content is sent through TrainFed's secure service to an AI provider for processing. Food photos are normalized and metadata is removed before analysis. Voice recordings are used to identify food items and are not presented as a user-facing transcript.

TrainFed currently uses OpenAI for text and photo nutrition analysis and Google Gemini for voice food analysis and recipe artwork. These providers process the content needed to return the requested feature under their applicable service terms and data-processing commitments.

4. Information collected automatically

We may collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure TrainFed, such as app version, device and operating-system type, request identifiers, timestamps, network errors, feature usage, and diagnostic events. We do not intentionally log authentication tokens or raw food photos in application logs.

5. How we use information

• Provide calorie, macro, hydration, food, supplement, recovery, and meal-planning features.
• Sync your TrainFed data across signed-in devices.
• Protect accounts, prevent abuse, enforce usage limits, and diagnose failures.
• Improve reliability, safety, accessibility, and product performance.
• Respond to support requests and send service-related communications.
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.

6. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to run TrainFed, follow your instructions, complete a business transaction, protect users and the service, or comply with law.

• Supabase provides authentication, database, and private file storage.
• Google Cloud hosts TrainFed's secure application service.
• OpenAI and Google process feature requests that require AI analysis or generation.
• Apple may process App Store purchases and sign-in information under Apple's own policies.
• Professional advisers or authorities may receive information when reasonably necessary for legal, security, or compliance purposes.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep account and app data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide TrainFed. We may retain limited records where required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

You can delete your account from the TrainFed profile screen. Account deletion removes or schedules removal of the associated TrainFed data, subject to legally required or securely isolated backup retention. You can also contact privacy@trainfed.com for help with an access or deletion request.

8. Security

TrainFed uses encrypted network connections, scoped authentication, row-level database security, private storage, and server-side provider credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please protect your device and sign-in methods.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

You can disconnect Apple Health in iOS Settings, edit nutrition entries in the app, change notification permissions in system settings, and delete your TrainFed account from the profile screen.

10. Children

TrainFed is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital-consent age in their location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who cannot legally consent to the service. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information without appropriate authorization.

11. International processing

TrainFed and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

12. Policy changes

We may update this policy as TrainFed changes. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
